Yes. The Mindray 040-003273-00 Exergen Temporal Scanner is a handheld temporal artery thermometer and can generally be used as a standalone thermometer to take patient temperature readings.
However, when supplied as part of the Accutorr 7 with Exergen configuration, it is intended to interface with the Accutorr 7 monitor so that temperature measurements can be transferred and displayed within the monitoring system.
If your goal is to use the thermometer independently, it should function as a standalone device, but you may lose the automatic data transfer and integration features provided by the Accutorr 7 monitor.
